The Ear to the Earth Festival portrays New York City's personality and urban ecology in sound, with audio recordings and sound art compositions featuring the noise of Times Square, city buildings and bridges among other. Buildings [New York] by sound artist Francisco López captured sound originating from multiple locations throughout New York City, which included windy, man-made landscapes of machine rooms, elevator shafts, and heating systems of office and residential buildings. In the concert, the room was dark, the audience blindfolded, and the sound project emitted from a multi-channel system.

The festival continues on through Oct. 25.
