My piece for The End of the Dial, "What We Talk About When We Talk About Hair" (mp3), got picked up by Magnum Photos for their series InSight America, "a collage  [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<p  style=" text-align: left; ">Last week I spent a lot of time thinking about the Republican vice presidential candidate--and her stylists. My piece for The End of the Dial, "<a href="http://www.theendofthedial.comhttp://www.theendofthedial.com/uploads/1/1/9/1/1191325/rastogi_updos_final.mp3">What We Talk About When We Talk About Hair</a>" (mp3), got picked up by <span style="font-weight: bold;">Magnum Photos</span> for their series <a href="http://insight.magnumphotos.com/about-insight/insight-america-mission-statement">InSight America</a>, "a collage of personal investigations and reflections that attempts to capture the things preoccupying Americans during the weeks leading to Election Day." Their photographers were at the Medusa Salon last week as well: Check out the cool images&nbsp;<a href="http://insight.magnumphotos.com/insight/brooklyn">here</a>.<br /><br />As we were editing "What We Talk About ...", the news broke that the RNC&nbsp; had spent $150,000 to outfit and accessorize Palin and her family. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Slate </span>magazine sent me to Saks Fifth Avenue that afternoon to see if I could figure out how, exactly, one spends that much money on clothes.
